Instructions
Step 1: Gather Ingredients
Start by collecting all your ingredients. You will need lasagna noodles, shrimp, scallops, crab meat, ricotta cheese, mozzarella cheese, parmesan cheese, marinara sauce, garlic, onion, fresh herbs, and spices.
Step 2: Prepare the Seafood
Thoroughly rinse the shrimp and scallops under cold water. Pat them dry with paper towels. Cut the scallops in half, if they are large.
Step 3: Sauté Aromatics
In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and chopped onion. Sauté until they become translucent and fragrant.
Step 4: Cook the Seafood
Add shrimp and scallops to the skillet. Cook for about 3-4 minutes until they turn opaque. Gently stir in the crab meat and cook for an additional minute. Remove from heat.
Step 5: Prepare the Cheese Mixture
In a mixing bowl, combine ricotta cheese, shredded mozzarella, half of the parmesan cheese, and fresh herbs. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Mix until well combined.
Step 6: Build the Lasagna
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Spread a thin layer of marinara sauce at the bottom of a baking dish. Place a layer of lasagna noodles over the sauce, followed by a layer of the seafood mixture and a layer of the cheese mixture.
Step 7: Repeat Layers
Continue layering noodles, seafood, cheese mixture, and marinara sauce. Make sure to finish with a layer of noodles topped with remaining marinara sauce and a generous sprinkle of mozzarella and parmesan cheese.
Step 8: Bake the Dish
Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil. Bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes. Then, remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until the cheese is golden and bubbly.
Step 9: Let it Rest
Once baked, remove the seafood lasagna from the oven. Allow it to rest for 10-15 minutes before serving. This will help the layers set and make slicing easier.
Step 10: Serve and Enjoy
Slice the lasagna into portions and serve hot. Garnish with additional herbs or parmesan, if desired.
Notes
Freezing Your Seafood Lasagna
If you plan to enjoy your Seafood Lasagna later, freezing it is a great option. Slice it into individual portions for easier reheating. Wrap each piece tightly with plastic wrap and then place the wrapped portions into a sturdy freezer bag or container.
