Description

Discover how to make the ultimate Sausage Cheese Dip with this easy recipe! Perfect for parties, game day, or snacking, this creamy, cheesy dip is a crowd favorite.

Ingredients

Scale

To make this delicious dip, you’ll need the following ingredients:

  • 1 pound ground sausage (mild or hot, depending on your preference)
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 (10-ounce) can diced tomatoes with green chilies (such as Rotel), undrained
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon smoked paprika (optional, for added depth of flavor)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Chopped green onions or cilantro (for garnish, optional)

Instructions

Step 1: Cook the Sausage

  1. Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add the ground sausage and cook until it’s fully browned and crumbled, breaking it apart with a spoon as it cooks.
  2. Once the sausage is cooked through, drain any excess grease from the skillet.

Step 2: Combine the Ingredients

  1. Reduce the heat to low and add the softened cream cheese to the skillet with the cooked sausage. Stir until the cream cheese is melted and fully incorporated.
  2. Add the sour cream, diced tomatoes with green chilies (including the liquid), shredded cheddar cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, and smoked paprika (if using). Stir well to combine all the ingredients.
  3. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Continue cooking on low heat, stirring occasionally, until the cheese is fully melted and the dip is heated through.

Step 3: Serve and Enjoy

  1. Transfer the dip to a serving bowl or keep it warm in a slow cooker for parties.
  2. Garnish with chopped green onions or cilantro, if desired.
  3. Serve with tortilla chips, crackers, or sliced vegetables for dipping.

Notes

Keep It Warm: If serving at a party, use a slow cooker or warming tray to keep the dip at the perfect temperature.
